CBO Announces Launch Of Islamic Liquidity Management Project7/23/2018 8:00:00 PMCBO Announces Launch Of Islamic Liquidity Management ProjectCentral Bank of Oman held a kick off meeting with Thomson Reuters on Tuesday, 24th July 2018, announcing the launch of the Islamic Liquidity Management Project. <p style="text-align:justify;">Central Bank of Oman held a kick off meeting with Thomson Reuters on Tuesday, 24<sup>th</sup> July 2018, announcing the launch of the Islamic Liquidity Management Project.  Held at CBO premises in Ruwi, the kick-off meeting comes in light of CBO hiring services of Thomson Reuters to develop innovative solutions and tools for liquidity management in the Islamic banking sector in accordance with Sharia and Islamic rulings. </p><p style="text-align:justify;">In a media release CBO stated that the issue of liquidity management is one of the primary challenges facing the Islamic banking sector at present, due to several reasons, including the high liquidity levels with the Islamic banking entities compared to the conventional banks, with no options to deploy the excess liquidity like in the conventional banks.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The CBO's Executive Management believes in the importance of developing effective and applicable tools and solutions that are compatible with the regulatory framework of Islamic banking in Oman, and has therefore given its direct attention and top priority to this matter.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">It may be noted that Thomson Reuters is a leading institution in the development of innovative Islamic liquidity management solutions, with remarkable expertise and contributions in this field.
