The CBO introduces new enhanced Fifty Rials Banknote<img alt="" src="https://publishing.bnet.om/sites/assets/PublishingImages/English/News/news50NoteJune2019.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" />6/1/2019 8:00:00 PMThe CBO introduces new enhanced Fifty Rials BanknoteThe Central Bank of Oman is pleased to introduce to the public the newly enhanced Fifty Rials Banknote with additional security features.<p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">The Central Bank of Oman is pleased to introduce to the public the newly enhanced Fifty Rials Banknote with additional security features.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">This new banknote shall be in circulation from 2<sup>nd</sup> June 2019 as legal tender along with the existing banknotes, which shall continue to remain as a legal tender, and circulated side by side with this new note. </span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">The following are the new security features of the enhanced 50 Rial note:</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2" style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Security Features on the enhanced Banknote:</strong></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2" style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Front:</strong></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">A Golden security patch window (Varifeye CC Patch) shows the following:</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">1. <span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">The denomination.</span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">2. <span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">CBO's main entrance.</span></span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">3. <span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">Name of the Central Bank of Oman in both Arabic and English.</span></span></span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">The color of the window changes from gold to blue under any source of light. </span></span></span></span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"> <span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">A Golden Magnetic Windowed Security Thread (<strong>RollingStar Security Thread</strong>), the direction of the line moves and changes color gold to green when tilting the banknote.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">(<strong>Spark Live Truspin</strong>) in a shape of a crown changes color from gold to green when tilting the banknote.</span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2" style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Reverse:</strong></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">Golden security patch window (<strong>Varifeye CC Patch</strong>) on the left side of the banknote changes color from gold to blue under any source of light.</span></p>0x010100C568DB52D9D0A14D9B2FDCC96666E9F2007948130EC3DB064584E219954237AF3900075E4FF44B3F64489802BE694C5C6FB701001A1EADFFD0CD66409B1A45E335F4666A
