Central bank of Oman and College of Banking and Financial Studies jointly introduce one-year Fintech professional program that is an exclusive in the region.

The program focuses on multi area such as fintech principle and innovation, disruptive technology, fintech regulation and compliance, data analyst in fintech, etc.

The first patch has launched in September 2023.

25 students have been graduated from the program.

Central Bank of Oman established a collaboration with Sultan Qaboos university to upskills Omani youth on fintech.

A specialized Fintech course was introduced in 2023 to the curriculum of the SQU college of economics and political sciences.

SQU pitch battle program, in collaboration with FSA and NBO, the CBO conducted a pitch battle for SQU students who are graduated from the course to pitch their ideas on fintech.

12 ideas have been evaluated, The 3 top idea will join the CBO Fintech Innovation Hub.

On 2022, Central Bank of Oman launched the AI hackathon which was held in College of Banking and Financial Studies.

The aim of the Hackathon to explore and attract emerging talents in field of data sciences and artificial intelligence.

150 participants from different Universities and scientific colleges had joined the hackathon.

Central Bank of Oman is collaborating with an Omani technology provider to tailor and deliver a DLT/Blockchain capacity building program for the CBO employees as well as the financial sector.

The aim of the program is to build participants capabilities an expertise in utilizing blockchain technology in financial industry and emphasizes the development of critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills necessary for effective blockchain implementation by comping theoretical knowledge with practical application using a digital sandbox.
