CBO Announces 63rd GDB Issue Worth OMR 150 Million<img alt="" src="https://publishing.bnet.om/sites/assets/PublishingImages/Global/News/NewsGDB63en.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" />2/5/2020 8:00:00 PMCBO Announces 63rd GDB Issue Worth OMR 150 MillionThe Central Bank of Oman has announced its 63rd issue of Government Development Bonds worth OMR 150 Million.<p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">The Central Bank of Oman has announced its 63rd issue of Government Development Bonds worth OMR 150 Million. With a maturity period of 7 years, the new Issue will carry a coupon rate of 5.25% per annum.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">The issue will be open for subscription from Sunday, February 9, 2020 to Monday, February 17, 2020, while the auction will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. The issue settlement date will be Thursday, February 20, 2020. Interest on the new bonds will be paid semiannually on August 20 and February 20, every year until maturity the date of February 20, 2027. </span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">Investors may apply for these Bonds through the competitive bidding process only. Investors may submit bids through commercial licensed banks operating in the Sultanate. Investors with applications of OMR 1 Million and above may submit their bids directly to CBO after getting them endorsed from their banks.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteThemeFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-2">It may be noted that the bonds are direct and unconditional obligations of the Government of Oman and they can be used as a collateral security to obtain loans from any local licensed bank.
